Editing mania!

Finally starting to get a hold on this editing thing! This one will be a bit long; some are from my most recent shoot (a sweet sixteen birthday party), a photo-field trip I took with a friend, and a few self portraits I played around with on photoshop. enjoy.

Photoshop and such

So...I rarely say the word 'hate' I don't like to use it to describe my disdain for something or especially someone. There are several reasons for this, but the main one is that I am really a pretty happy person and whereas yes, I may dislike something; it is very rare that I have such extremely strong emotion over my dislike to actually say that I hate it. That being said...I hate winter. I like being outside, I like the sun, I like to feel warm, I like to wear flipflops or no shoes at all, I like to swim, I like to ride around with the windows down, and I like to be able to go outside without having to put on my coat, socks, and shoes! I have never really felt this way until this year, but this winter has seemed colder than usual and I'm uncomfortable when the temperature dips below about 50 degrees. Not to mention, the little spring tease we just had made me long for tanktops even more than before...I hate winter.

Apologies for the personal ramble...this is a photography blog, I just had to share. :) So I have been very very busy lately. We had midterms and this past week I have been doing my field experience at Hillwood High School everyday, not a lot of time for pictures. BUT, on the way home from dad's last weekend I stopped for a few minutes and snapped a couple pictures which I will share with you.

Also, I have been slowly but surely learning photoshop and what it's capable of. The following is a shot I took on the same day as the other two. You will notice that the first one is edited for clarity and vibrance but there are unsightly powerlines up in the trees and some trash on the ground. Now there are several ways to clean up an image but it took me quite some time to figure out how to remove something so obvious without leaving blurry streaks where the powerlines had been, much less the huge pole off to the left-hand side. After much work this is what I have!
